Organisation
 
The Flemish Foundation for Trafficknowledge (FFT) is an organisation under the Flemish government. It was in 1990 founded by a decree according to which the FFT has the following goals:
·   To develop curricula, to organise and co-ordinate the education and training in the field of trafficknowledge.
·   To stimulate scientific research and higher education in trafficknowledge.
·   To advise the Flemish parliament and Flemish government about affairs concerning trafficknowledge.
 
After the approval of the Flemish government, the FFT can organise other activities concerning traffic and mobility. As an administrative agency, the FFT is part of the Flemish government apparatus and comes entirely within ministerial responsibility.
 
The FFT is organised as follows:
·   General assembly
·    Board of directors
·    Secretariat
 
The general assembly comprises the staff members of the Ministries of Mobility as well as professors and professionals involved in the field of mobility and traffic. The board of directors, appointed by the general assembly, is responsible for the management of the FFT. The secretariat consists of eight employees who execute the projects that are approved of by the board of directors.
 
 
Activities
 
The FFT organises four different kinds of acitivities:
  • Training and refresher courses
  • Higher education
  • Education in primary and secondary schools
  • Advice and research
